The death has just been announced of
Charles Gordon, Life President of
William Grant & Sons, who died in
New York at the weekend. He was 86
years of age.

The Glenfiddich Distillery Festive
Tribute To The Angels Share
It
appears that the festive season brings
out the artistic side of the workers at
the Glenfiddich distillery, last
Christmas the Glenfiddich workers
created a Christmas tree
which they made using 665 of the single
malt’s unique triangular green bottles.
This year the artistic bunch at the
Glenfiddich Distillery have made a
festive tribute to the ‘angel’s share’,
the whisky lost each year due to
evaporation.

Scottish fashion designer Judy R Clark
has unveiled a new range of tweed
clothing for Islay single malt whisky,
Ardbeg.
The new range of clothing will be used
as uniforms for Ardbeg trial and
sampling teams around the world at
whisky events.

Escalator
The Scotch Whisky Association is calling
for Chancellor George Osborne to scrap
the unfair alcohol duty escalator which
is damaging the Scotch Whisky industry
in its domestic market and punishing
hard-pressed consumers, namely the users
of this website.

The Girvan Patent Still Single Grain
William Grant has broke away from
whisky conventions and released The
Girvan Patent Still Single Grain 25
Year Old the first in a new core
range of single grain whiskies from
the Girvan distillery which will be
exclusively available only in the
UK. So is grain whisky the neutral
spirit many whisky drinkers think it
to be, this is what I thought of the
new whisky.

Express Their Taste For The Exotic
Following
a global campaign by The Glenlivet which
has
seen thousands of whisky fans casting
their votes to select a new limited
edition from The Glenlivet, the results
have finally been revealed. It appears
that the majority of the voters had a
preference for the Exotic expression
which picked up 39% of the vote.

has been granted London’s first
licence to produce single malt
whisky in over a century and today
saw its first spirit flow from the

sampling figures after returning to
London’s leading art and design show,

Visitors to The Macallan experience were
treated to a tasting of Gold, Amber,

Glenfarclas. The single cask Glenfarclas
1953 which was bottled to commemorate the 60th

51.1% ABV.

Distillery Names Latest Whisky
Ardbog
Ardbeg Distillery has named its
latest whisky Ardbog and the launch
will take place at Islay Festival on
“Ardbog Day” – 1st June 2013. Ardbog
was matured for ten years in
traditional American oak ex-bourbon
barrels and rare ex-Spanish Manzanilla
sherry butts. This gives Ardbog a
distinctively salty texture accentuating
the salty, briny flavours already
prevalent in the whisky.

This first release of
Kilchoman Loch Gorm in the series is a 5 year old

weeks. After tasting it, I predict
