Harviestoun
Brewery to debut new Ola Dubh 30 at the
Edinburgh Whisky Stramash
I
know there are a few of you who are like
myself and enjoy one or two craft beers
so I thought this one would be of
interest to you as it is a very limited
release craft beer with a single malt
whisky connection.
As I already have mentioned
HERE a few days ago the
Edinburgh Whisky Stramash will be
returning to The Surgeon’s Hall in
Edinburgh on Saturday 25th and Sunday
26th May. The Stramash is an
encounter of many elements and
experiences and you can expect the
opportunity to sample if you wish, a
huge array of amazing whiskies from
Scotland and abroad.
Also this year at
the Stramash you will find the
independent Scottish brewer Harviestoun
Brewery who will be celebrating their
30th birthday in style by treating ticket holders to
its latest whisky inspired brew.
You may already be familiar with the
Harviestoun Brewery Ola Dubh range which
includes Ola Dubh 12, 16 and 18 which
have been aged in casks that have
formerly been used to mature Highland
Park. The Ola Dubh 12, 16 and 18 were
aged in oak casks formerly used to
mature Highland Park 12, 16 and 18 Year
Old Single Malt Whisky respectively.
Ola Dubh 30 is the first limited edition
released by the brewers to have used
first fill sherry cask supplied by the
famed Highland Park distillery based on
Orkney and then cask conditioned. Just
two casks of this brew have been made,
amounting to just 145 pints. A must try
for whisky and beer fans alike, Olah
Dubh 30 is so rare that it will only be
available to buy in thirds of a pint.
Harviestoun will also be bringing an
intriguing 'Secret Barrell Aged-Brew'
exclusively for visitors to the
Edinburgh Whisky Stramash, born out of
the brewery’s love for experimentation
with combinations of beer and Whisky
casks.
Scott Martin, co-founder of the
Edinburgh Whisky Stramash commented: "We
love the pioneering attitude of the
Harviestoun team which is completely in
keeping with the spirit of the Stramash
and we know this is something our
adventurous audience is going to love
trying out."
Ewan McCowen, Marketing Manager,
Harviestoun added: "As far as we're
concerned beer and whisky is a match
made in heaven and the Edinburgh Whisky
Stramash is the perfect place to trial
our latest creations."
Famed for its mad cap pioneering,
Edinburgh Whisky Stramash will bring the
wonderful world of whisky to the masses
in new and innovative ways by exciting
the purists, tempting the interested and
intriguing the indifferent once again.
The Stramash will be held on three
sessions over the 25th and 26th of May
2013.
- Saturday 25th of May 2013 12pm –
4pm
- Saturday 25th of May 2013 5pm –
