The Famous
Grouse launch a 40 year old expression
exclusively in travel retail.
 The
Famous Grouse are launching a 40 year
old expression of their famous blended
whisky exclusively in travel retail. It
will initially be available at Amsterdam
airport from August 2013 exclusively for
two months then it will be a rolled out to
global travel retail in October and then
Sweden, Taiwan, UK and Australia in
November.
The Famous Grouse 40 Year Old is the
oldest expression of the whisky ever to
be released by the brand's owners, The
Edrington Group.
A blend of whisky from four ex-sherry
casks by former master blender John
Ramsay, this new Scotch is limited to
276 decanters, which have been engraved
by a Scottish design firm who are
appropriately named Timorous Beasties.
The price for a 70cl decanter of The
Famous Grouse 40 year old which has been
bottled at 47.3% ABV will be £2,000
(US$3,045).
