Grant’s
Family Reserve named ‘Best Scotch Blend’
at World Whiskies Awards 2013
Grant’s, Scotland’s oldest family-run,
blended whisky maker, received the
highest acclaim at this year’s World
Whiskies Awards, by being named ‘Best
Scotch Blend’ for its Grant’s Family
Reserve.
First held in 2007, the World Whiskies
Awards are Whisky Magazine's product
awards, searching for the very best
whiskies in the world. This year's
competition saw more than 300 whiskies
put through their paces during three
rounds of rigorous tastings to win the
coveted titles of the 'World's Best'.
Kate Athanasi, Grant’s Global Brand
Director said: "We’re thrilled that
Grant’s Family Reserve got recognized as
the ‘Best Scotch Blend’ in the industry.
It’s a true testament to all the
craftspeople who have worked hard to
ensure that our founder William Grant’s
legacy of blended whiskies continues to
be enjoyed all around the world."
Few brands can boast as rich and varied
a story as Grant’s blended Scotch whisky
with record sales and a history spanning
over 100 years. An independent distiller
run by five successive generations, the
company continues to stay true to the
high standards of quality and
craftsmanship set by its founder,
William Grant, who created Grant’s
Blended Scotch Whisky.
Grant’s Family Reserve is one of the
world’s best loved Scotch whiskies and
enjoyed in over 180 countries. First
created by William Grant in 1898, the
blend is today, five generations later,
entrusted to Grant’s Master Blender,
Brian Kinsman. Grant’s Family Reserve is
made with around 25 of the finest single
malt and grain Scotch whiskies. The
basis for the blend is our widely
acclaimed Girvan grain whisky. Vacuum
distilled at a lower temperature to make
it a lighter and more delicate spirit,
it is then aged in oak to give it a
deeper, sweeter, soft fruit flavour,
creating the perfect foundation.
