Gold Edition 1890 released to mark
Chinese Year of the Horse 2014
White
Horse Gold Edition 1890 is a new travel
retail exclusive limited edition which
has been created in celebration of the
Chinese Year of the Horse which begins
January 2014, the new expression will be
available exclusively to travellers from
January until June 2014.
The company said that its Master Blender
had chosen "some of the finest malt and
grain whiskies from Islay and the
Highlands" to create the product. These
include casks of the Lagavulin single malt
whisky, and the result is they say
"a creamy, sweet and robust flavour".
White Horse whisky which was originally
created by Peter Mackie takes its name
from one of Edinburgh’s famous coaching
inns near to where Peter lived, the
White Horse Cellar Inn which was the
starting place for the eight day coach
trip to London. 1890 is the year White
Horse was first introduced by Peter.
Bottled at 43% ABV White Horse Gold
Edition 1890 will initially be available
in travel retail outlets in Asia Pacific
from mid-December, followed by Europe
and the Middle East. It will be
available at a recommended retail price
of US$23/£14 for 1 litre.
