The
Glenfiddich Vintage Cask has the fruity
sweet Glenfiddich notes we know and love
but coated in a lovely unique mild
smokiness.
 The
Glenfiddich Vintage Cask is the third of
three whiskies in the new travel retail
exclusive Glenfiddich Cask Collection.
The whisky has inspired by the first
Glenfiddich spirit that flowed from the
stills in 1887, when barley was
traditionally malted in kilns at the
distillery over furnaces fuelled with
dried local peat, infusing the whisky
with a unique smokiness. The new
Glenfiddich Cask Collection Vintage Cask
liquid reflects this legacy.
Uniquely
for today it was
created using spirit which was produced
using peated barley then matured in
European oak and American Bourbon casks then
finished for at least 2 months in the
innovative Vintage Cask Solera Vat which
Glenfiddich have constructed in
Warehouse 8 at the distillery in Dufftown
to create this new expression.
The Glenfiddich Vintage Cask was bottled
at 40% ABV, a 70cl bottle which will be
available in global travel retail
outlets from early 2014. RRP £80.00

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
A lovely coastal note, sea salt, hay,
some dark chocolate, touch of spice and
a lovely mild smokiness.
Taste:
A lovely mild creamy peat tanginess. The
vanilla sweetness and smoke balance
well. Some citrus fruitiness, oak spice, gentle vanilla fudge
and a touch of cinnamon.
Finish:
Creamy vanilla coated in sweet peat and
oak spice continues long into the
mildly drying finish.
Comment:
The Glenfiddich Vintage Cask has the
fruity sweet Glenfiddich notes we know
and love but coated in a lovely unique
smokiness. A unique complex and very
easy to drink expression of Glenfiddich,
and one to look out for on your
Glenfiddich malt journey.
