William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Colour:
Dark deep ruby red.
Nose: Dark cherries, coffee then
big sherried fruitcake notes with
raisins sultanas and toffee.
Taste: A smooth delivery of
lovely dark sherried fruit - burnt
raisins and sultanas, orange, a light
sweet vanilla sweetness peaks through
from behind the lovely dark fruit and a
touch of cloves hiding there also,
nutmeg and then the appearance of
cinnamon and dry ginger.
Finish: A long rich lingering
dark sherried mildly drying finish. Some
spicy oaky notes.
Comment:
As you move up the Macallan 1824 range
the colours get darker and the whisky
gets richer. This is by far the
richest of the range. If you are looking
for a big bold sherried Macallan then
this is definitely the one for you. The
Macallan sherry oak style fans will love
the Macallan Ruby..
SMW Score 91/100
