Review of Jameson Round from Jameson The Deconstructed Series.
Originally launched in October 2015, Jameson Round is one of a trio of travel retail exclusive Irish blended whiskey's which together form
The Deconstructed Series.
Jameson Round
influenced by the wood contribution, Jameson describe it a balance of rich and plump charred wood tones. The distillery describe it as a perfect harmony of diverse flavours, sweet vanilla fuses with soft ripe fruit and, together, combines with the rich Pot Still Spices on a firm foundation of toasted oak.
Jameson Round was bottled at 40% ABV and will be available in Global Travel Retail with an RRP of £27.50/€36 or local equivalent for a 70cl bottle.
William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose: Some dried fruit, a little vanilla sweetness and a touch of spice.
Taste: Toasted oak and burnt raisins coated in a little sweet vanilla, lovely pot still spices, the well charred oak comes more to the fore.
Finish: A long finish, toasted oak and fruit fight it out with some sweet vanilla overseeing the skirmish.
Comment: Was there some sherry casks in the mix here? The info I have from Jameson doesn't say but I think there is a few in the mix. Deliciously juicy becoming a little drying. Another extremely enjoyable rich easy drinking blend from Jameson which wont bust the bank. It is exclusive to travel retail so one to remember if you are off on you holidays or for a good dramming whiskey if visiting friends of family.
