Review of Jameson Bold from Jameson The Deconstructed Series.
Originally launched in October 2015, Jameson Bold is one of a trio of travel retail exclusive Irish blended whiskey's which together form
The Deconstructed Series.
Jameson Bold influenced by pot still whiskey, Jameson describe it as an intense and robust whiskey, with a strong influence of spices. Initially sweet and creamy, with an abundance of soft fruits, the pot still spices develop to bring a perfect balance of rich barley notes and mellow baked apple.
Jameson Bold was bottled at 40% ABV and will be available in Global Travel Retail with an RRP of £27.50/€36 or local equivalent for a 70cl bottle.
William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose: Toasted oak spice, a little Irish pot still fruitiness, touch of vanilla.
Taste: Red apple, some vibrant pot still spices, honey, some zesty orange, a little creamy vanilla, a touch of bitterness.
Finish: A shortish finish, a little stewed plum, some honey and spice, a dull bitterness.
Comment: Not as bold on the nose as its name suggests, the pot still spices and fruit is certainly bold on delivery but don't hang around very long. Could have done with a cask or two in the mix to sweeten up the somewhat dull experience.
