Gordon
& MacPhail Distillery Labels Linkwood 15 Year Old
was matured in Refill Sherry casks and bottled at
43% ABV.
In partnership with each respective distillery, all
whiskies in Gordon & MacPhail's Distillery Labels
range are uniquely labelled. In years gone by many
of these unique designs were used ‘officially’ to
bottle the whisky under license from the distillery.
Today these trusted relationships with distillers
enables Gordon & MacPhail to bottle whiskies at
various ages, strengths and vintages - all with
their unique distillery label.

Murray Cohen's Tasting Notes:
Colour:
Dark gold.
Nose:
Citronella is followed by Australian black licorice
and hearty Brazil nuts. The sherry yields some
appealing crème brulee elements but there is
something lurking in ominous fashion in the depths
like an octopus ready to spring forth.
Taste:
Medium bodied. The nutty profile continues, somewhat
drying. Ah, there it lies matey, sulphur notes
coming into full consciousness on the taste buds.
Finish:
Medium long. Coffee notes with flecks of dark
chocolate.
Comment:
This whisky entered the stage with a flurry of
pleasantness but unfortunately a sulphur issue
(experienced on my palate) has tied its hands.
SMW Score
79/100
