Laphroaig
Cask Strength - 10 Years
Old This is a pure single Islay
malt scotch whisky bottled at natural
distillery strength. This gives it a
depth of genuine taste and texture
normally associated with sampling a
whisky at source. Emphatic, full bodied
and utterly unforgettable. Volume 57.3%
strength of this excellent malt whisky
will be reduced soon to 55.2%. What are
the chances that it will be as good as
this? Powerful beast which perfectly
shows what Islay whisky is all about.

Glenmorangie - 18 Years
Old In the final maturation of
Glenmorangie 18 Years Old they engage a
cautious quota of ex-sherry casks.
These, they believe, are most properly
employed for rounding-off a more aged
malt. Indeed, they produce a very
different character, balancing the
aromas and flavours which have by now
developed. The changes that take place
during prolonged maturation are
profound. The characteristic refinement
of Glenmorangie—the floral bouquet and
mandarin/citric notes—are still
abundantly present, but are enriched and
enhanced.

Aberlour - 10
Years Old This is a definitive
example of a Speyside Single Malt. It is
matured in a combination of sherry and
bourbon oak casks for a minimum of 10
years. Aberlour 10 year old single malt
is available in over 50 countries around
the world and is surely one of the most
complex Single Malts in its class.
Available from The Whisky Exchange - £18.99 |
Glenlivet
- 18 Years Old
After more than 18 years in selected
casks it becomes a malt whisky of
unmistakable honey-rich maturity and
depth. Small wonder then that THE
Glenlivet 18 year old is the winner of 2
gold medals in the International Wine
and Spirit Competition (I.W.S.C.) the
premier competition of its kind in the
world. Comparing it to one of Scotland's
greatest living actors The Malt Advocate
calls THE Glenlivet 18 Year Old "mature,
rich and sexy".

Bunnahabhain - 12 Years Old
Bunnahabhain is a mellow, delicate and
highly individual malt Whisky that owes much
of its character to the clear water of the
Margadale spring and to the distillery's proximity
to the sea on the edge of the Sound of Islay.
Bunnahabhain is distilled from clear spring waters
trapped high in the mountains whilst they still
tumble over hard granite rocks, and this helps to
give Bunnahabhain a taste less peaty than the
island's other malt whiskies. A soft, mellow whisky
of great character and distinction with a hint of
peat.Volume 40%.
Available from The Whisky Exchange - £20.99 |
Dalmore - 12
Years Old Dalmore 12 year old
single Highland malt whisky. Aged Oloroso
butts smooth its rich, fleshy body with
great harmony. Almost a concentrated
citric mouth-feel captivates and
tantalises the middle part of your
tongue. An aftertaste of great abundance
rewards the palate. A Highland malt of
great distinction.
Available from The Whisky Exchange - £20.49 |
Macallan - 12
Years Old This Macallan single Highland malt was described by Paul Pacult,
the renowned international whisky
writer, in his book Kindred Spirits as:
"simply the best 12 Year Old single malt
around", The Macallan has justly reaped
such critical acclaim. The secret of The
Macallan lies in defiant adherence to
traditional methods and ingredients. The
continued use of finest Golden Promise
barley and the insistence on oak sherry
casks from Spain are just two of the
pre-requisites for perfection.

Dalmore 50 Years
Old This is one most of us can
only dream of. Very seldom does the opportunity arise to acquire such a rare spirit
as The Dalmore 50 year old Single Highland Malt Whisky. Carefully stored at
the Dalmore distillery for over half a century, the minimum age of the
whisky contained within is 50 years old,
however a proportion of the spirit was first drawn on the 4th March
1922, which in turn is reputed to embody some Dalmore from 10th June
1868 and 18th February 1878. The result is a truly soft, elegant and
finely balanced malt whisky, bottled at the natural cask strength of 52%
alcohol by volume, with exquisite tones of Olorosso
sherry and only a subtle hint of
American White Oak. Taking an age to
reach perfection, but only seconds to
recognise, this is a deserved
masterpiece. Each Dalmore 50 year old is
individually numbered and signed by
third generation Master Blender, Richard
Paterson, the number to be found on the
inner lid of the presentation box. The
spirit itself is contained in a heavy
cut glass crystal decanter, embossed
with the Dalmore Stags Head emblem. A
certificate within the box describes how
to best enjoy and care for the Dalmore
50 years old.
