Review of the
Deanston 2006 12 Year Old Fino Finish Distell
Limited Release 2019 Malt Whisky Collection.
 One
of three Deanston expressions in
Distell's Limited Release Malt Whisky
Collection 2019, this Deanston 2006 12
Year Old Fino Finish is actually the
first time Fino sherry has been used to
mature Deanston spirit, it was initially
matured in bourbon casks for 9 and a
half years, then transferred to Fino
sherry casks for a further 2 and a half
years.
Bottled at a cask strength of 55% ABV,
naturally coloured and non-chillfiltered,
it is a limited release of 268 bottles,
with a RRP of £65 it will be
available here in the UK, Europe,
Taiwan, China and Global Travel Retail.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Barley sugared sweet malt, raisin and
orange, a touch of honey, some vanilla
toffee and a little gentle spice.
Taste:
Deliciously rich and smooth, raisins and
orange citrus infused with some lovely
spices, a little cinnamon and pepper.
Some creamy toffee and a late touch of
milk chocolate.
Finish:
Dried fruit, sweet toffee and lingering
oak spice.
Comment:
I particularly enjoyed this one and I
would say quality for price this is the bargain buy from this years Distell
Malt Collection at £65 and with only 268
available I think this will sell out
fast.
