Bunnahabhain 2007 11 Year Old French
Brandy Finish Distell Limited Release 2019 Malt Whisky Collection.

Collection 2019, this
Bunnahabhain 2007 11 Year Old French
Brandy Finish was initially filled into
whisky refill casks back in 2007 when it
was distilled then finished for 2.5
years in French brandy butts.
Bottled at a cask strength of 52.5% ABV,
naturally coloured and non-chillfiltered,
it is a limited release of 570 bottles,
it has a RRP of £90 and will be
available here in the UK, Europe,
Taiwan, Canada, USA and Global Travel
Retail.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
A rich sweet nose with gentle brandy
fruits, orange citrus, raisins and
sultanas, vanilla toffee, a lovely touch
of peppery spice and just the slightest
nuttiness.
Taste:
The brandy fruits lead the charge with
apples and pears joining the orange
citrus and raisin fruit from the nose,
lightly treacled toffee, some dark
chocolate, some sweet shortcrust pastry, a little nuttiness and a
lovely gentle peppery spice in the
background.
Finish:
The
brandy fruitiness bows out leaving some
long lingering toffee which bitters out
with a mix of coffee and tobacco.
Comment:
The brandy cask has certainly added a
fruity element to this Bunnahabhain,
it is a quality dram which has a lovely
nose which is worth taking time to
savour, its bottling strength just adds
to the pleasure but still smooth to
drink at 52.5%. This is something off
the normal beaten track of the
Bunnahabhain core range for the Bunna
fans amongst you.
