at the top of the trio of Bunnahabhain
releases in Distell's Limited Release
Malt Whisky Collection 2019 is this
Bunnahabhain 1988 31 Year Old Marsala
Finish, matured for almost 3 decades in
whisky refill casks then finished for 2
years in Marsala hogsheads.
Bottled at a cask strength of 47.4% ABV,
naturally coloured and non-chillfiltered,
it is a limited release of 420 bottles,
it has a RRP of £450 and will be
available here in the UK, Europe,
Taiwan, China, USA and Global Travel
Retail.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Gentle old oak, a lovely fruitiness, orange
marmalade, a mix of stewed and fresh
apple, touch of pineapple, raisin and a
little spiced vanilla toffee.
Taste:
A delicious sweet Marsala wine
fruitiness leads with apricot, raisin
and orange, some gentle mature old oak
isn't far behind. A little honey & vanilla
mix adds to the pleasure and a lovely
gentle late peppery smokiness.
Finish:
Long, the fruit has a slight candied
edge now, it soon fades to let the
lovely lingering slightly drying old oak
and gentle peppered smoke have the final
say.
Comment:
The addition of the Marsala fruit to the
mature fruity Bunnahabhain spirit has
made this a pleasure from nose to
finish. Deliciously rich and complex and
if you are able to get hold of this
where you are and your pockets are deep
enough, I am sure you wont be
disappointed.
