Review of Glenmorangie 10 Year Old 100 Proof by Murray Cohen.
This 100 Proof version of the classic Glenmorangie 10 year old was originally available in travel retail it was later replaced by a No Age Statement 100 Proof expression, sadly neither is available today but they can still be found in specialist whisky retailers.
Bottled at 57.2% ABV this is another dearly departed and I am sure missed whisky.
Murray Cohen's Tasting Notes:
Colour: Gold.
Nose: Lilac bush melds into cheese factory (mostly mozzarella) with a swirl of cream soda and lychee nuts in heavy syrup.
Taste: Full-bodied. Mouth-filling, honey fresh from the hive with a spicy halo. Thick and voluptuous making the most of its 57.2% ABV.
Finish: Long, the sweetness manifests in a multi-layered joy fest with maple fudge being the center of attention.
Comment: This whisky is made to impress. A magnificent dram that spreads its wings from start to finish. This is a Glenmo to remember.
