The GlenDronach
has unveiled Batch 17 in its popular Single Cask
series, a release of 14 single cask
bottlings.

The GlenDronach Distillery has
unveiled the next instalment in its
popular cask strength single cask
series, the GlenDronach
Single Cask Batch 17 is a batch of 14
single cask whiskies ranging from 12 to
28 years old, and distilled between 1990 and
2007 all of which have been bottled at
cask strength with the ABV ranging from
49.3% to 60.9%.
Each cask in
batch 17 has once again been selected by
the GlenDronach's Master Blender Rachel
Barrie, Rachel has hand
picked 12 sherry cask matured single
malt whiskies and a couple of Port
Pipe matured whiskies which should give
fans of the predominately sherried
GlenDronach something a little
different to explore.
As we have
come to expect from the GlenDronach
single cask batch releases this
seventeenth batch includes a rich
selection of the distillery’s signature
Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry casks
from Andalucía in Spain, as well as two
Port pipes from the Douro Valley in
Portugal including a cask from 1995, one
of the last remaining casks at the
distillery from this vintage.

Rachel commented on this latest
batch of single cask whiskies,
saying: "The batch seventeen cask
selection truly celebrates The
GlenDronach house style; robust,
elegant, fruity and full-bodied.
Each cask individually explores the
sophistication, powerful intricacy
and rich layers of Spanish sherry
cask maturation found in every
GlenDronach expression; from layers
of crème brûlée, treacle toffee and
over-ripe banana in 1990 to baked
blackberry and currants with dark
chocolate in 1992, burnt raisin and
Oloroso-soaked tobacco leaf in 1995
to toasted pain au raisin and
butterscotch simmering beneath the
surface in 2007."
