Review of
BenRiach The Smoky Ten 10 Year Old.
 BenRiach The Smoky Ten 10 year old is
the new entry level peated single malt
in the recently revamped BenRiach core
range.
It is the result of peated BenRiach
spirit having been matured for 10 years in a
combination of three types of cask -
bourbon barrels, toasted virgin oak and
Jamaican rum casks.
The BenRiach Smoky Ten is bottled at
46% ABV and has a RRP of £42

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Enticing vanilla fudge and honey infused
with delicious sweet peat smoke, a
little touch of peach and pear adds a
little fruitiness, a little oak spice in
the background.
Taste:
The deliciously sweet Benriach peat
leads followed by some lovely sweet
coconut, honey and sweet pepper. A
slight touch of almond oil lurking in
the background and some late oak spice.
Finish:
Long with sweet peat, pepper, a touch of
lemon zest, a little ginger and oak
spice.
Comment:
I have always liked the peated
Benriach's and this is no exception, a
quality peated dram. If I had to choose
between the the peated and unpeated
Benriach 10 and 12 year olds in the new
line-up this would be my choice and
again another whisky which I can I
highly recommend it and if you are
looking for a last minute Christmas gift
for a whisky loving friend or family
member that wont bust the bank I am sure
they would thank you for this if they
enjoy a peated dram.
