The
new Highland Park Travel Retail
Collection, four new whiskies with clear
age statements and bottling strengths
which step up as you move through the
range.

The recently launched new Highland
Park travel retail collection is a
collection of four new whiskies from the
Orkney distillery which, I am sure you
will be pleased to hear, see's the
re-introduction of a clear age statement
to the travel retail range.
The
creation of the new range is the work of Highland Park's Master
Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, each
expression in the new travel retail
line-up is said to showcase different
aspects of Highland Park's distinctive
flavour profile and natural, cask driven
colour.
The entry level whisky in
the new travel retail line-up is the
only whisky in the line-up without
an age statement, the
Highland Park Spirit Of The Bear which has been
primarily matured in sherry seasoned
American Oak casks and bottled at 40%
ABV. The Spirit Of The Bear is described
by the distillery as having an intense
aromatic smokiness which is driven by
their unique, woodless Orcadian peat,
cut by hand from Hobbister Moor, only
seven miles from the distillery.
The second expression in the series is
the
Highland Park 14 Year Old Loyalty of the
Wolf which has matured in a
combination of sherry-seasoned American
oak casks and ex-Bourbon casks and has
been bottled at 42.3% ABV. The Loyalty
of the Wolf is described by the
distillery as being a sweet complex
whisky, displaying a fine balance of
contrasting flavours.
At the
heart of the new range is the
Highland Park 16 Year Old Wings Of The
Eagle
which is a combination of whiskies
matured in both sherry seasoned European
and American Oak casks and has been
bottled at 44.5% ABV. Wings Of The Eagle
is described by the distillery as being
a spicy and elegant whisky, with layers
of flavour derived from the combination
of casks which it spent 16 year maturing
in.
Sitting at the top of the
range is the
Highland Park 18 Year Old Viking Pride
Travel Edition which has
matured primarily in sherry seasoned
European Oak casks. This is simply a
higher strength version of the
outstanding Highland Park 18 Year Old
available in the domestic market. The
special Highland Park 18 Travel Edition
has been bottled at its marrying
strength, 46% ABV.
The new
whiskies names and
new look packaging has once again taken
its inspiration from the distillery's
Orcadian roots and Viking ancestry, with
three of the new expressions being named
for animals which held iconic status for
the Vikings.
The new Highland
Park Travel Retail exclusive collection
aims to deliver a step change in
the new ranges direction, with the age and
bottling strength stepping up as you
