Cask Finish.
 The
GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Sauternes Wine
Cask Finish is one of trio of limited
edition whiskies in launching the new
GlenAllachie Wine Cask series.
This limited edition 12 year old was
created by The GlenAllachie Master
Distiller Billy Walker, Billy
inititially matured the whisky in
American Oak ex-bourbon barrels, it was
then finished for almost another two
years in French oak casks which
previously held Sauternes, a dessert
wine originating from Bordeaux in
South-West France, after a medium level
of toasting.
The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old Sauternes
Wine Cask Finish is bottled at 48% ABV,
non chill filtered and naturally
coloured and has a RRP of £60.99.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Sweet and honeyed with a gentle enticing
fruitiness.
A little sugared almond and a gentle
sultana, melon and apricot mix, a little
slightly salted toffee.
Taste:
Muscovado sugar, honey, a little zesty
orange & lemon citrus and melon leads,
this is quickly joined by a little peach
and apricot.
Finish:
Long, the sugared honey and fruit cling
to the palate for an age before fading
to leave some very gentle slightly
drying oak spice.
Comment:
Put simply this is the quality whisky
they produce at Glenallachie enhanced
by all the rich deliciously sweet
flavours you would enjoy in a glass of
Sauternes. The fruits are all gentle and
refined and the 48% bottling strength
simply adds to the sweet flavour
pleasure experience. Another delicious,
moreish dram from Glenallachie.
