Craigellachie
19 Year Old Review
You
will need your passport to get a taste
of this one as the Craigellachie 19 year
old is exclusive to travel retail and
like all the bottlings in the
Craigellachie range it is presented in
its natural unadulterated form, bottled
at 46%ABV, non-chill filtered, no added
caramel colouring and it carries a clear
age statement, just as we like it.
William
Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose: Grassy and herbal notes.
Honey, vanilla, grapefruit, pineapple,
cinnamon.
Taste: A delicious sugar
sweet sulphury mildly smoky malt laden
delivery, candied fruit, zesty orange &
lemon, pineapple. Ripe plum, honey and
vanilla, marzipan, cinnamon all coated
mature oak spice.
Finish: Long, sulphury (a good
sulphur), cereal, grassy, balanced by
mildly drying sweet oak spice.
Comment:
Certainly the most sulphured out of the
new Craigellachie range but this makes
it more attractive to me. I would swear
this deliciously muscular Speysider is
older than the 19 years stated on the
bottled. You will need to dust off your
passport for this one but it is well
worth it. Definitely one to look out for
on your travels.
