Tobermory
release a 24 Year Old Oloroso Cask
Finish single malt, the first special
release whisky to be created under Cara
Gilbert, the world’s youngest distillery
manager.
 Tobermory
24 Year Old Oloroso Cask Finish is the
second release in the distillery’s
Hebridean Series, following the release
of the outstanding
Tobermory 23 Year Old Oloroso Cask
Finish back in late 2020.
The new Tobermory 24 Year Old Oloroso
Cask Finish expression has been bottled
at 52.5% ABV and has a RRP £320 so you
will need deep pockets if you want to
taste it. It is the first whisky to be
created under Cara Gilbert, the world’s
youngest distillery manager at just 28,
who was appointed to head up Tobermory
Distillery in 2021.
Tobermory say that the new 24 year dram
rewards the drinker with notes of Mull’s
wild landscapes; dark berries on the
nose and blackcurrant jam on the palate
– all of which can be found in abundance
across the island’s diverse ecosystem.
Nutmeg and cinnamon are beautifully
balanced with a salty tang, alongside
vanilla with toasted oak and a hint of
cocoa. The distillery’s surrounding
shoreline gives Tobermory 24 its coastal
characteristics and a warm salted
caramel finish.
After spending the last nine years
resting in the finest Oloroso sherry
Gonzales Byass casks which is no short
finish, the result is said to be a
high-quality whisky with which will only
be available in limited quantities.
Cara Gilbert, Distillery Manager at
Tobermory Distillery, has commented: "We

influences that myself and the team
experience from living and working on
the beautiful island, hand crafting our
whiskies.

from fans eager to enjoy a true taste of
Mull."

Finish, Tobermory 12 Year
Old, the peaty Ledaig 10 Year-Old,
Ledaig Sinclair Series Rioja Cask
Finish, and Ledaig 18 Year Old in the
distillery’s range of malts and will be
available from specialist online whisky

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Delicate citrus notes with caramelised
dates, roasted walnuts and rich dark
berries.
Taste:
Nutmeg and cinnamon beautifully balanced
with a salty tang. Sweet notes of
blackcurrant jam and vanilla with
toasted oak and a hint of cocoa.
Finish:
Salted caramel and a hint of hazelnut.
