Jura single
malt whisky boldly moves into a new era
with the launch of a complete new core
whisky range and a new travel retail
exclusive range.

In one of the boldest moves we are
ever likely to see from any Scotch Malt
Whisky company the Isle of Jura distillery
has announced the launch of a complete
new Jura whisky range for the domestic
market. It has discontinued it current
core range of whisky and will be
replacing it with a completely new range
of five single malt whiskies.
Love them or hate them out go some
well known expressions such as the Jura
Superstition, 10 Year Old Origin, 12
Elixir, Prophecy and the Jura 16 year
old so if you think you will miss any of
these expressions I suggest you grab a
bottle or two while you can because when
they are gone they are gone.
Jura tells me that not only does the
launch of the five new whiskies signify
a new dawn for the distillery, it also
introduces a unique flavour profile for
the brand.
So what will be replacing these long
established expressions?
The five new Jura whiskies are:
Jura

rich and full bodied red wine finish and
refined smoky notes. Aroma of toffee;
black forest fruits to taste; bitter

The new Jura whisky range should be
starting to appear on the shelves of
whisky shops worldwide from April 2018
and it will be presented in a taller,
new bottle shape and a sturdier, more premium and stylish
carton.
As I announced back in October last year
Jura will also be rolling out its
first travel retail exclusive whisky
range in April 2018, the
Jura Sherry Collection, a
range of four whiskies which have all
been enhanced in Sherry casks that
previously held Pedro Ximénez.
I am sure the folks at Jura have been
extremely busy for quite some time
reviewing available maturing stock to
come up with five new Jura whiskies for
the worldwide domestic market and the
four new Jura whiskies for global travel
retail which are all going to launch at
the same time. I will certainly miss the
Jura Prophecy and 16 year old but fingers
crossed they have been replaced with
something just as good, if not better. I
haven't had the chance to taste any of
the new Jura whiskies yet but when I do
I shall let you know what I think of
them.
This is a without a doubt a very brave bold move by Jura
to discontinue their complete core range
and replace it with a new range but I
would say that it is probably a sensible move as some of the
old Jura range fell short of what you
would hope it would be and I believe
with the right maturation and blending
Jura could be turning out some very good
whiskies. Hopefully there will be a
few gems amongst the new whiskies.
The new Jura whisky range will soon be
available
from specialist online whisky retailers such as The Whisky Exchange
and
Master of
