Douglas Laing Whisky Independent Bottler

Douglas Laing Whisky Range

Old Particular
Douglas Laing flagship range & a ‘particularly’ unique series of individually hand-selected aged Single Cask Malts from all over Scotland – each bottled according to the founders’ philosophy of topmost quality.

Director's Cut / Executive Decision
A unique selection of old & rare Single Malt & Single Grain Whiskies.

Provenance
From Douglas Laing's sister company McGibbons, the Provenance selection is a quality based and still unchill filtered – but a little younger. Normally bottled from a single cask – occasionally from a "small batch" of two or three and bottled at 46% ABV.

The Premier Barrel
The tasting notes may be a little over the top – and are a little bit of fun – but the Malts selected for filling into this unique ceramic decanter are taken very seriously. The only single cask Malt in ceramic.

Big Peat
This is a really big character from Islay – full of fabulously feisty phenolic fundamentals. This vatting carries a big peaty (often called "phenolic"), beachy oceanic slightly ashy selection of Malts from the island of Islay, from where the Laing family hail - and no wonder! - as they have included Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen in the "recipe".

Clan Denny Blended Malt
Clan Denny Blended Malt. Bottled at 46% ABV and Unchill filtered.

The "Islay" vatting consists of selected casks from Ardbeg, Bowmore, Bruichladdich, Bunnahabhain and Caol Ila distilleries, plus two more further sought after distilleries.

The "Speyside" vatting has selected casks from Macallan, Glenrothes, Glen Grant, Mortlach and Longmorn distilleries plus two further sought after Speyside Malts which Douglas Laing have chosen not to reveal.

Double Barrel
Initially launched with a selected cask each of Macallan and Laphroaig, more "marriages" (not shotgun!) of the Double Barrel are forthcoming.

Clan Denny Aged Grains
Though often viewed as carrying less character than Malts – once Grains hit Douglas Laing's preferred minimum age to release (over 37 years of age) they develop fabulous full, round, fruited character within their nose, palate and finish.

The King of Scots
This has been Douglas Laing's Flagship blend since 1886 – a great brand name carrying only the finest blended scotches which they have proudly assembled and continue to offer in numbered edition bottlings.

Epicurean
Premium Blended Whisky with an unusually high proportion of Malt whisky (90%). Bottled in a traditional Victorian style ceramic flask, it brings back memories of days long gone.
