Review of the
BenRiach 2008 Cask No. 5807 10 Year Old.
 The
BenRiach 2008 Cask No. 5807 10 Year Old is one of 17 new limited edition
whiskies in Batch 15 of BenRiach's
popular Single Cask series of whiskies.
Distilled on 10th January 2008 and fully
matured for 10 years in a Sauternes
Barrique.
Bottled in 2018 it was selected by
BenRiach
Master Blender, Rachel Barrie as part of
this latest batch of single cask
releases.
Non chill-filtered and natural colour
this Sauternes cask matured whisky was bottled at
59.7%
ABV, it is a limited release of 296
bottles and will be available from specialist whisky shops such as The Whisky Exchange
and
Master of Malt while stocks last.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Sweet and honeyed with an enticing
fruitiness - apple strudel, apricot,
peach and sultana and just the slightest
touch of nuttiness hiding in the
background.
Taste:
Deliciously sweet honey and a
little zesty citrus fruit leads, the
zesty lemon is joined by peach, and
again just a hint of nuttiness.
Finish:
Peach has the longest staying power of
the fruit, a little sweet coconut makes
an appearance and the sweet
honey is the last to fade.
Comment:
This has obviously come from a very good
Sauternes wine cask which has imparted
just what you would what and expect into
this BenRiach whisky. A little fiery at
first at cask strength but fine after a
few sips. No surprises here
just what you would hope for a lovely
sweet honeyed single malt with notes of
peach, apricot and zesty lemon.
