Fancy a flavour-led World Whisky Day featuring two refreshing and approachable whisky cocktails designed to inspire both whisky enthusiasts and curious newcomers to explore Scotch in a new way.

World Whisky Day Cocktails - The Turn by Loch Lomond Whiskies & Neptune's Cargo by Glen Scotia

World Whisky Day 2026 is the ideal moment to discover whisky in a whole new light - whether you’re a lifelong fan or simply whisky-curious. It’s a chance to break away from tradition, experiment with flavour, and enjoy single malts in fresh, approachable cocktail serves that open the door to something different.

Loch Lomond Group is highlighting the character of its award-winning distilleries, Loch Lomond Whiskies and Glen Scotia, through two vibrant, flavour-led cocktails that are easy to make and perfect for celebrating the occasion.

Loch Lomond Whiskies, located just a few miles from the shores of its namesake loch, is known for its elegant balance of fruit, honeyed sweetness and gentle smoke. Its distinctive spirit is crafted using both traditional Swan-Neck stills and innovative Straight-Neck stills, and matured in casks prepared at its own onsite cooperage.

Glen Scotia, one of only three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, continues to preserve traditional whisky-making methods through its small dedicated team working in historic stillrooms and dunnage warehouses. The result is a bold, maritime-influenced style that has earned global recognition for its distinctive Campbeltown character.

Together, these whiskies prove just how versatile Scotch can be - especially when mixed into refreshing, easy-drinking cocktails that appeal equally to seasoned whisky lovers and those just beginning their journey.

You will find the current Loch Lomond Group whiskies including the Loch Lomond 12 Year Old and
Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish available from specialist online whisky shops such as The Whisky Exchange and Master of Malt

The Turn by Loch Lomond Whiskies

Inspired by the halfway point of a round of golf and Loch Lomond Whiskies’ partnership with The Open, ‘The Turn’ is a bright, refreshing cocktail that makes whisky effortlessly accessible in a long, cool serve.

Built around Loch Lomond 12 Year Old, it showcases the distillery’s signature style of ripe peach and pear, layered with soft vanilla sweetness and a hint of smoke - making it a perfect entry point for whisky cocktails.

Producer's Tasting Notes:

Ingredients:

• 35ml Loch Lomond 12 Year Old
• Five mint leaves
• Three lime wedges
• Ginger ale or ginger beer

Method:

Fill a tall glass with ice, add the whisky, mint and lime, then top with ginger ale or ginger beer. Stir gently and enjoy a refreshingly light whisky serve.

Neptune's Cargo by Glen Scotia

Inspired by the historic tale of The Neptune, a rum-laden ship seized off Sanda Island in 1769, this cocktail brings a taste of Campbeltown’s maritime heritage into a tropical-style serve.

It features Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish, a whisky matured in American oak before being finished in Guyanese Demerara rum barrels, creating a rich profile of caramelised sugar, molasses and tropical fruit - ideal for whisky cocktails with a twist.

Producer's Tasting Notes:

Ingredients:

• 50ml Glen Scotia Double Cask Rum Finish
• 50ml fresh pineapple juice
• 10ml fresh lime juice
• 60–80ml soda water

Method: Build over ice in a tall glass, adding whisky, pineapple and lime juice, then top with soda water. Garnish with a pineapple leaf for a bright, tropical finish.
