White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire has
unveiled a cask-strength version of one
of its flagship whiskies this autumn:
Wire Works Caduro Cask Strength.
This limited-edition Wire Works Caduro
Cask Strength is a vatting of the
distillery's lightly peated single malt.
It has been aged in a blend of American
first-fill ex-bourbon barrels and White
Peak’s unique STR casks—re-conditioned
wine barriques that are shaved, toasted,
and re-charred. After an additional
18-month marrying period, they say that
the result is a nuanced balance of
Caduro’s hallmark cereal, fruit, and
honey notes.
Bottled at a natural cask strength of
58.0% ABV, Caduro Cask Strength is
available exclusively in the UK and is
presented in a specially designed,
recyclable gift box.
The original Caduro, which won awards
upon its release in March 2023, was the
first permanent addition to the Wire
Works Whisky collection. It’s named
after the renowned cable brand once
produced onsite by Johnson & Nephew at
the historic Wire Works, the
Distillery's home since 2016.
Claire Vaughan, co-founder at White
Peak, said: "It's exciting for us to
reveal a cask strength version of one of
our signature whiskies. We’ve pushed our
house flavour profile with this cask
strength spirit, amplifying the fruit
notes found in our main Caduro release
to bring out more richness, complexity
and depth of flavour and allowing the
drinker the ability to find their own
sweet spot. As with all of our Wire
Works whiskies, nothing has been added
during the process and there has been no
chill-filtration."
Wire Works Caduro Cask Strength has a
RRP of £79 and will be available
from 1st November via the Distillery
shop and from specialist online whisky
shops such as
The Whisky Exchange
and
Master of Malt
