Turntable Spirits unveils first Scots-Irish Blend, Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle

Turntable Scots-Irish Blend Collaboration Drop 02: DingleSmall-batch whisky blender Turntable Spirits has unveiled Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle, the second release in its collaboration series. This limited-edition blend, which combines Irish and Scottish whiskies, will be celebrated at a special launch event later this month at Bang & Olufsen’s flagship store on Bond Street, London.

Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle marks Turntable Spirits’ first Scots-Irish blend and is the Glasgow-based blender’s 11th release. It honours the revival of Irish whiskey tradition through a partnership with Dingle Distillery, an independent whiskey maker from County Kerry. Dingle holds a prominent place in Irish whiskey history as the first independent distillery to release single pot still whiskey in over a century.

"We’re honoured and excited to work with Dingle on this release," says Turntable co-founder Gordon Stevenson. "Their passion for preserving Irish whiskey tradition aligns perfectly with our ethos of respecting heritage while pushing boundaries in blending."

At Turntable Spirits, they try to push the boundaries of expectation, constantly experimenting with flavour and creativity to set new standards in whisky excellence. Their collaboration series allows them to team up with like-minded distillers to challenge the ordinary and create something truly unique.

Two hundred years ago, Ireland was home to over a hundred recognised distilleries, but by the turn of this century, only two remained. Dingle Distillery became the first independent producer in over a century to release single pot still whiskey, sparking the revival of Irish whiskey tradition.

For Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle, they focused on the spice notes from Dingle’s single pot still whiskey aged in Oloroso casks, enhancing them with Scotch whisky matured in a mix of ex-rye barrels, PX sherry puncheons, and first-fill bourbon barrels. Bottled at 52% ABV to preserve the vibrancy of flavours, this blend is said to represent the meeting of Irish and Scottish whisky heritage.

Turntable tells me that this is a full-bodied dram offering a sensory experience with rich cigar spices and chocolate raisin notes, leading into layers of marzipan, nutmeg, and citrus. The result is a complex yet rounded finish that packs a punch. Collaboration Drop 02: Dingle brings together tradition and innovation, Ireland and Scotland, in a whisky that stands out at 52% ABV.
