Tomatin
expands UK retail footprint with major
grocery and convenience listings.

Tomatin Distillery has significantly
expanded its presence across the UK
grocery, convenience and on-trade
sectors, making its Highland single malt
whiskies more accessible.
The Highland distillery has secured a
series of listings with leading
retailers and wholesalers, bringing its
signature light, soft and fruity single
malts to a broader consumer audience.
Central to the expansion are two
expressions developed specifically for
the mainstream market: Tomatin Double
Cask, launched in Tesco in April 2025,
and Tomatin 10 Year Old, introduced in
Waitrose in November 2025. Both
expressions feature new packaging
incorporating a distinctive wood-grain
design inspired by the natural tree
rings found in oak, reflecting the
distillery's long-standing commitment to
exceptional cask management.
Designed to offer accessible price
points while maintaining Tomatin's
renowned quality and house style, the
two whiskies have rapidly gained
distribution across multiple retail
channels.
Tomatin Double Cask is now available in
more than 600 Tesco stores across the
UK, up from 380 stores at launch. The
expression has also secured a listing
with Booker Wholesale across 22 Scottish
depots, extending availability
throughout the convenience sector and
on-trade, with the potential to supply
more than 500 Premier convenience
stores. The Booker partnership also
provides access to approximately 14,000
members of the wholesaler's on-trade
club, further strengthening Tomatin's
presence within hospitality.
Meanwhile, Tomatin 10 Year Old is now
stocked in 200 Waitrose stores
nationwide and has secured a full estate
listing across all 25 Booths stores,
strengthening the distillery's position
within the premium grocery sector in the
north of England.
The success of both expressions has also
been recognised internationally. At the
2026 San Francisco World Spirits
Competition, Tomatin 10 Year Old was
awarded Gold while Tomatin Double Cask
received Silver. Both whiskies also
earned Silver medals at the 2026
International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Gordon Hynd, UK Sales Director at
Tomatin, said: "The past 18 months have
demonstrated the genuine appetite for
quality Highland single malt in the
grocery, on-trade and convenience
sectors. Building listings in Tesco,
Waitrose, Booker and Booths speaks to
the versatility of our two new single
malt expressions, and as a key strategic
priority for the business, we are
continuing to gain significant traction
in the channel.
"The Booker partnership reaches
independent retailers through 22
Scottish depots and provides
considerable access to the on-trade,
meaning Tomatin whisky is now within
reach of an entirely new set of
customers on Scottish soil. Booths
champions quality and provenance and is
a natural home for Tomatin. A full
estate listing across all 25 stores is a
real statement of intent in the north of
England.
"At Tomatin, what matters most has never
changed: exceptional cask management,
the craft of our people, and making
single malts that are genuinely worth
seeking out. Getting our whiskies in
front of more people, in more places, is
how we bring that to life."
Alongside its grocery expansion, Tomatin
continues to strengthen its wider
distribution network. Tomatin 12 Year
Old Triple Cask has recently secured a
listing with LWC Wholesale, the UK's
fastest-growing independent wholesaler,
further enhancing the brand's presence
in the on-trade as its refreshed core
range packaging continues to roll out
globally.
Tomatin Double Cask is available from
Tesco and Booker Wholesale, priced at
£37.75 for a 70cl bottle, while Tomatin
10 Year Old is available from Waitrose
and Booths, priced at £42 for a 70cl
bottle.
You will also find the current
Tomatin whisky range available from specialist online whisky
shops such as
