Highland
whisky distillery Tomatin Distillery is
reinforcing its dedication to cask
management with a bold new packaging
refresh across its core range of single
malt whiskies. The refreshed packaging
emphasises the craftsmanship, precision
and attention that goes into every cask,
bringing Tomatin’s renowned wood policy
to the forefront.

Highland whisky distillery Tomatin
Distillery is highlighting its
commitment to cask management with a
striking new packaging refresh across
its core range of single malts. The
update represents the next stage in the
brand's visual development while
remaining rooted in the values that have
shaped the distillery for more than a
century.
The redesigned packaging draws attention
to the skill, precision and care behind
every cask, placing Tomatin's renowned
wood policy firmly in the spotlight. As
one of the few Scotch whisky producers
with its own on-site cooperage, the
distillery continues to emphasise the
importance of traditional craftsmanship.
The enhanced presentation follows cooper
Allan Bartlett receiving the ‘Cooper of
the Year’ title at the Icons of Whisky
Awards 2025.
Central to the redesign is a premium
presentation box featuring a wood-grain
pattern inspired by the natural rings
found in oak trees. The motif reflects
the distillery's dedication to wood
management and its careful tracking of
every cask that passes through its
warehouses, representing a considered
shift away from the previous
landscape-inspired design. Each
expression is also defined by a bold
colour palette, ranging from deep
indigo, forest green and scarlet red to
rich purple and teal blue.
The refresh also brings updated label
designs intended to increase visual
impact and strengthen shelf presence in
both retail and on-trade environments.
At the same time, messaging across the
range has been simplified, with clearer
product names and a more straightforward
structure of information to better
communicate the character of each
whisky. These updates reinforce
Tomatin’s focus on clarity, quality and
authenticity in an increasingly
competitive market.
The new look is being introduced
globally on Tomatin Legacy and Tomatin
12 Year Old Triple Cask — the latter now
renamed from Tomatin 12 Year Old — with
the rest of the core range set to follow
over the coming months.
The redesign builds on the success of
the bold scarlet red packaging recently
launched for Tomatin 12 Year Old Sherry
Cask, which will also adopt the enhanced
label. The update delivers a more
contemporary and eye-catching shelf
presence while maintaining the
award-winning Highland single malt
whisky within. Travel retail
expressions, including Tomatin 8 Year
Old and Tomatin 13 Year Old, will also
transition to the updated label
throughout 2026.
The refined packaging represents a
strategic move within Tomatin’s
long-term ambition to strengthen its
global presence and reinforce the
craftsmanship at the heart of the brand.
It follows the 2025 launches of Tomatin
Double Cask and Tomatin 10 Year Old,
both designed to stand out in grocery
and convenience retail environments and
already seeing strong results after
launching in Tesco and Waitrose
respectively.
Jennifer Masson, Head of Marketing at
Tomatin, said: "This bold new packaging
reflects what we do best at Tomatin -
exceptional cask management,
craftsmanship and attention to detail.
It aligns our visual identity with
consumer expectations in modern retail
and on-trade settings and gives our
whiskies greater presence in global
markets. Our focus remains unchanged -
creating remarkable single malts at
excellent value for whisky lovers around
the world."
