release Timorous Beastie 10 year old
Highland blended malt expression.
 The
first new whisky to first foot my mail
box in 2018 is a new whisky from the
Glasgow based family run whisky company
Douglas Laing, they have just announced
the release of Timorous Beastie 10 Year
Old Limited Edition Highland Blended
Malt Scotch Whisky.
Perhaps it is appropriate that this new
whisky which takes it name from the
mouse in Scots poet Robert Burns
famous poem "To a Mouse" is the first
new whisky announcement of the year with
Robert Burns "Auld Lang Syne" which is
sung worldwide to usher in the New Year
still ringing in our ears and with Burns
Night celebrations only a few weeks away
on January 25th.
The new 10 Year Old isn't the first
limited edition aged bottling to be
released in the Timorous Beastie range,
it follows the limited edition Timorous
Beastie 18 Year Old which was released
in May last year, and the premium 40 and
21 year old expressions which were released back in
2016.
Douglas Laing tell me that the new
Timorous Beastie 10 Year Old bottling is
a marriage of single malts exclusively
from the Highland region, bottled at
46.8% and as we have come to expect from
the Douglas Laing Remarkable Malts range
it is without colouring or
chill-filtration.

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Immediately sugary sweet, bursting with
warm syrup over sponge and ripe, juicy
nectarines.
Taste:
Creamy honey, warm buttered toast,
gentle spice and a distinct cereal
character.
Finish:
A deliciously full finish of honeycomb,
zesty orange and soft fruits.
