with a festive line-up of exciting
releases. Highlights include a
Christmas-themed A Dram Good Festive
Tasting Pack, the debut of a premium
series called The Creators featuring
limited-edition aged peated whiskies,
and an expansion of its 50th Anniversary
Cask Club programme.

closing out 2024 with a festive line-up
of exciting releases. Highlights include
a Christmas-themed tasting pack, the
debut of a premium series called The
Creators Collection featuring
limited-edition aged peated whiskies,
and an expansion of its 50th Anniversary
Cask Club programme.
Founded in 1983 by a group of whisky
enthusiasts, SMWS has grown to a global
community of around 40,000 members. This
holiday season, the Society is
introducing A Dram Good Christmas
tasting pack (£39), a delightful gift
option featuring three 50ml bottles of
its exclusive single malt whiskies. Each
bottle boasts a playful, flavour-focused
name and lively tasting notes, making it
a perfect way to share the spirit of the
season.
Additionally, SMWS has unveiled the
inaugural release in its Creators
Collection: Peat Plants, a quartet of
premium aged peated single malt
whiskies. These limited-edition whiskies
are adorned with labels inspired by
Scotland’s stunning natural landscapes,
celebrating the depth and diversity of
peated whisky flavours.
Available from
November 22, the collection includes:
- Fern & Flame (26 Year Old):
Inspired by Highland ferns, this
whisky offers earthy notes with a
balanced smokiness.
- Peat Bloom (33 Year Old): A
complex blend of smoke and maritime
saltiness reminiscent of coastal
landscapes.
- Moss & Mist (25 Year Old):
Evoking Islay’s damp, misty bogs, it
features medicinal peatiness and
rich depth.
- Heather Ember (25 Year Old):
Capturing the floral hints of
Orkney’s heather, it delivers a
subtle sweetness interwoven with
smoke.
The complete Peat
Plants set is priced at £1,300, with
individual bottles available from £195
to £425. This launch marks the debut of
The Creators Collection, a series set to
explore distinctive flavour profiles and
innovative whisky-making techniques in
the months ahead.
In response to overwhelming demand, SMWS
has also expanded its exclusive 50th
Anniversary Cask Club programme. This
unique initiative allows members the
extraordinary chance to own a full cask
of whisky, witness its maturation until
the Society’s golden jubilee in 2033,
and craft their own personalised
bottling's.
The newly added casks—sourced from
renowned distilleries in Islay, the
Highlands, and the southern
Highlands—include both peated and
unpeated expressions. Cask options
feature styles such as Ex-Bourbon,
Oloroso, and Pedro Ximenez. Prices begin
at £4,000, with additional charges
applicable at bottling in 2033.
