Douglas Laing
reveals a new seasonal winter warmer,
Scallywag Winter Edition, a limited
edition cask strength sherried Speyside
blended malt presented with a rather
festive looking scarf.
 With a wee bit of ground frost forecast
here tonight I thought there
couldn't be a better time to announce
the new limited edition winter warmer
from Douglas Laing, Scallywag Winter
Edition.
The Scallywag Winter Edition Speysdie
blended malt was matured
exclusively in a combination of Oloroso
and Pedro Ximinéz Sherry butts and it
has been bottle at the rather warming
natural cask strength of 52.6% ABV,
Douglas Laing tells me that the deep
amber coloured whisky has bold notes of
dark fruits, rich cocoa, subtle tobacco
and warming winter spices.
Adding a bit of a festive feel to the
the new Speyside blended malt is a
rather festive red-and-white striped scarf
around the bottle neck; a "fun addition"
that the firm says renders it "the
perfect gift for the season of giving".
