has just unveiled a new limited edition
Scallywag 18 Year Old that has been
finished Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
 Douglas Laing & Co. has
just unveiled
Scallywag 18 Year Old, a new
limited-edition expression that
highlights a deeper, more mature side of
its popular Scallywag Speyside Blended
Malt Scotch Whisky collection.
Aged for 18 years, this release marks a
significant moment for the Scallywag
range. The whisky spent its final
maturation period in Pedro Ximénez
sherry casks sourced from Jerez in the
Andalusian region of southern Spain.
These sought-after casks are celebrated
for adding rich sweetness and
complexity, enhancing Scallywag’s
hallmark sherried style and resulting in
a whisky with notable depth and
refinement.
Bottled at 46% ABV, Scallywag 18 Year
Old will be released in a strictly
limited global run of 2,610 bottles,
offering collectors and enthusiasts a
rare chance to explore a longer-aged
expression from the brand.
According to the tasting notes, the
whisky presents luxurious flavours of
dark chocolate truffles, spiced orange
peel and toasted walnuts on the palate.
These evolve into layers of treacle
toffee and black cherries, accented by a
gentle hint of cinnamon. The finish
lingers with notes of oak spice,
espresso and dried figs, creating a rich
and memorable tasting experience.
