Over 11,000
Redbreast Irish whiskey fans sign up for
the chance to buy 1 of 924 bottles of
the latest instalment of the Redbreast
Dream Cask series, the Oloroso Sherry
Edition, a 29 Year Old Irish single pot
still whiskey.

revealed that the fourth annual release
in their Birdhouse members only Dream
Cask Collection, the Redbreast Dream
Cask Oloroso Sherry Edition, a 29 Year
Old Irish single pot still whiskey
attracted over 11,000 entries for the
ballot for a chance to get hold of one of the 924
bottles which were available globally.
Considering that it was €520 for the 500ml bottle
of the Dream Cask Oloroso Sherry Edition and
that Irish Distillers received more than 11 times
the entries than the number of bottles
available it certainly illustrates just
how highly rated these Dream Cask
releases have become amongst Redbreast whiskey fans
following rave reviews of the first
couple of releases in the series.
I would doubt that there is another
Irish whiskey brand that could attract
as much interest as this for a bottle in
this price range, I just hope for the
924 lucky ballot winners sake that the
Dream Cask Oloroso Sherry Edition lives
up to the high rating earlier releases
received.

Distillers, along with Blender Dave
McCabe who between them have created all
four of the whiskey's in the Dream Cask

I think maybe Irish Distillers need to
come up with another special bottling to
release alongside the Dream Cask
bottling on World Whisky Day to satisfy
the demand from the over 10,000
disappointed Redbreast whiskey fans who
didn't get lucky in the ballot and who
were looking for something different and
special to try, if they want a
suggestion, how about an annual World
Whisky Day release of a cask strength
Redbreast 15 Year Old.
