Edinburgh-based Rare Find has announced
the upcoming launch of three single cask
whiskies that explore the nuances of
‘teaspooned’ malts. The releases include
a Speyside 22 Year Old (hinting at The
Balvenie), a Westport 18 Year Old
(suggesting Glenmorangie), and a
Campbeltown 10 Year Old (alluding to
Springbank).

Rare Find, the independent bottler, has
unveiled a new collection of single cask
whiskies which they say delve into the
subtle and often undisclosed category of
'teaspooned' malts.
Following the positive reception of its
Spring 2026 releases, Rare Find has
brought this collection forward in
response to sustained demand from both
retailers and consumers. The result is a
trio of new bottlings that continue to
highlight the brand’s focus on rarity,
individuality, and exploration.
Teaspooned malts represent a discreet
yet fascinating segment of the whisky
world. Initially developed as a way to
safeguard distillery identity, these
whiskies include a small proportion of
another malt, maintaining both
authenticity and anonymity. For
independent bottlers, this creates an
opportunity to showcase spirits with
clear lineage while respecting the
confidentiality tied to their origins.
This latest release features three
individual single cask expressions, each
reflecting the diversity and character
of teaspooned whisky across Speyside,
the Highlands, and Campbeltown. In
keeping with Rare Find’s philosophy, all
whiskies are bottled at natural cask
strength, with natural colour, and
without chill filtration.
Speyside 22 year old
Finished for 14 months in a 1st fill
Oloroso hogshead
Bottled at
46.1%, 133 bottles, RRP
£175.00
Rare Find tells me that this ‘teaspooned’ malt whisky has been
sourced from a legendary Speyside
distillery founded in 1892 (could they
be hinting at The Balvenie?). It has been
finished for 14 months in a
medium-charred, American oak 1st fill Oloroso sherry cask produced in
partnership with Bodegas Barbadillo.
Westport 18 year old
Finished for 14 months in a 1st fill
oloroso hogshead
Bottled at
55%, 204 bottles, RRP
£115.00
They describe this one as an elegant 'teaspooned' malt from a
Highland distillery famed for its
extremely tall stills (could they be
hinting at Glenmorangie?). This release has
been finished for 14 months in a 1st
fill Oloroso cask from Bodegas
Barbadillo, crafted from Spanish oak,
seasoned for 24 months and toasted,
adding refined depth and complexity.
Campbeltown 10 year old
Fully matured in a refill hogshead
Bottled at
46.7%, 303 bottles, RRP
£65.00
They describe this one as a distinguished and characterful blended
malt sourced primarily from a distillery
located just north of Campbeltown's
Kinloch Park (could they be hinting at
Springbank?). This release has been
matured in a refill hogshead, allowing
the region's distinctive coastal spirit
to shine with subtle oak influence and
layered complexity.
Speaking on the new collection, John
Moffat, Head of Commercial for Rare
Find, commented: "The response to our
Spring releases has been exceptionally
strong, enabling us to bring forward
this next collection ahead of schedule.
These teaspooned malts represent some of
the whisky industry’s best kept
secrets—where discretion and character
exist in perfect harmony. As ever, our
focus remains on selecting and
presenting exceptional casks at their
peak, allowing each whisky to speak for
itself."
These latest Rare Find releases will be
