Aceo Spirits
has unveiled Osprey, a new independent
bottling Speyside Scotch single malt
whisky brand.

Aceo Spirits has unveiled Osprey, a new
independent bottling Speyside Scotch
single malt whisky brand inspired by the
wildlife, landscapes and enduring
character of Speyside. The first release
arrived today, 26 March 2026, coinciding
with World Osprey Week, which marks the
celebrated return of the iconic bird to
Scotland. In partnership with the
renowned Loch Garten Osprey Centre in
the Cairngorms, proceeds from Osprey
will contribute to supporting ongoing
conservation efforts for the species.
Running through Speyside, the River Spey
has shaped the region's landscape over
thousands of years and, more recently,
has played a central role in
establishing the area as the heart of
Scotland’s whisky production and
heritage. Since the mid-20th century,
the river has also become home to the
osprey, a once-extinct species in the UK
whose return represents one of the
country’s most notable conservation
achievements.
The Osprey brand draws on this story,
combining the grace of the bird with the
tradition and skill of Speyside
whisky-making. The debut release
features a carefully curated selection
of expressions:
- Osprey 10
Year Old Braeval, matured in Oloroso
sherry casks, delivering notes of
cocoa, stewed fruit, walnut and
spice.
- Osprey 15
Year Old Glentauchers, aged in
bourbon barrels, offering a lighter
profile with tropical fruit, honey,
citrus and creamy malt.
They tell me that
each expression
has been developed with an emphasis on
balance, character and provenance,
highlighting the distinctive qualities
of Speyside whisky.
Speaking on the launch, Edward Odim,
Managing Director of Aceo, said: "Osprey
is a deeply personal project for me.
I’ve had a love of birds and wildlife
since I was a young lad. Having spent
time as a BBC wildlife producer, I had
the privilege of making programmes about
ospreys. Creating a whisky that brings
together whisky and one of my favourite
birds, is immensely rewarding. Osprey
celebrates whisky and supports one of
Speyside's most iconic returning species
— it's a tribute, not only to ospreys,
but to Speyside and what makes the
region so special."
Osprey is positioned as a celebration of
both craftsmanship and the natural world
— a whisky rooted in its environment
while offering a refined and memorable
drinking experience. With strong ties to
Speyside, the brand is designed to
appeal to those who appreciate
authenticity, have a connection to
nature and, of course, enjoy whisky.
You will soon find the Osprey whisky range available from specialist online whisky
shops such as
