International
Beverage Bottles Oldest Ever Old
Pulteney for Scottish Youth Charity Fund
‘Bow Wave’ 45 Year Old single malt
created for Distillers One of One
Auction.

International
Beverage today unveiled its remarkable
contribution to the whisky industry's
most significant charitable auction—a
bottling that represents the oldest
expression of Old Pulteney to date.
Named Old Pulteney Bow Wave, this 45
Year Old Single Malt is presented in an
exquisitely crafted sculpture
symbolising the majestic movement of a
ship through crashing waves.
This one-of-a-kind masterpiece has been
exclusively crafted for the biennial
Distillers' One of One Auction,
scheduled for October 5th, 2023, at
Hopetoun House near Edinburgh. The
primary beneficiary of this auction is
the Youth Action Fund, a Scottish
charity dedicated to empowering and
transforming the lives of young people.
Old Pulteney Bow Wave presents an
unparalleled opportunity to own a piece
of the distillery's rich history. This
exceptionally rare whisky matured for
over four decades in carefully selected
American oak casks, followed by an
additional five years of maturation in a
single first-fill Spanish oak butt. The
result is described as a whisky of
magnificent complexity, displaying a
deep golden hue and subtle whispers of
sea spray intertwined with the sweetness
of honey. Delicate notes of aged oak and
maritime air tantalize the palate,
creating a truly captivating experience.
The whisky is housed in an equally
remarkable bottle, resting upon a bed of
Caithness slate. The bottle itself is a
work of art, crafted from hand-blown
glass with intricate Inciso cuts that
mirror the essence of crashing waves.
Its deep blue colour represents the
boundless depths of the sea, while
glimpses of the golden liquid shimmer
like reflections of a morning sunrise.
The bottle is adorned with exquisitely
crafted Scottish silverware,
meticulously fashioned by local
Silversmith Lucy Woodley, adding a touch
of splendour. Accessible only by a
bespoke anchor key created by Glasstorm,
the concealed cork evokes the timeless
rhythm of the sea, captivating the
senses.
The Distillers' One of One Auction,
organized by the Distillers' Charity in
collaboration with Sotheby's, is a
global event where ultra-rare and unique
Scotch whiskies are auctioned. The
inaugural event in 2021 raised £2.4
million, benefiting nearly 500
disadvantaged young people from across
Scotland. Over half of these individuals
have already secured employment,
apprenticeships, further education,
training, or volunteer opportunities,
highlighting the profound impact of the
funds raised.
