New look and
new addition for the Bowmore core range
of whiskies.

You may have already spotted it on
the shelves in whisky shops, the Bowmore
whisky range has had a bit of a makeover
with a new look label and box but it
isn't just just a new cosmetic look the
core range has a new addition to its
line up, the Bowmore No.1.
The new look Bowmore whisky range is as follows:
Bowmore No.1
is the new entry level whisky and newest
addition to the Bowmore whisky range, it
replaces the now discontinued Bowmore
Small Batch Reserve. The new Bowmore
No.1 was matured in first fill Bourbon
casks, Bowmore say it has a vanilla
sweetness, cinnamon spice and oak smoke
beautifully complement the
mouth-watering citrus, honeycomb and
coconut flakes, culminating in a peat
smoked, bourbon vanilla and lime finish.
The Bowmore No.1 is bottled at
40% ABV and is presented in a
70cl bottle, it has a RRP of £32.
Bowmore 12
Year Old is in my eyes the
classic Bowmore, complex and perfectly
balanced. Subtle lemon and sweet heather
honey complement Bowmore's trademark
peat smoke, leading to a delicious, long
and mellow finish.
The Bowmore 12 is bottled at
40% ABV and is presented in a 70cl bottle, it
has a RRP of £36.
Bowmore 15
Year Old is matured in a
combination of bourbon and sherry casks,
it's the final three years spent in
Oloroso sherry casks that gives Bowmore
15 Year Old the rich, deep colour
reflected in its name, "Darkest"
although the "Darkest name appears to
have disappeared from the new packaging
but it is still the same whisky which
Bowmore describe as having a nose of
delicious dark chocolate, sun-dried
fruits and a tell-tale wisp of Islay
smoke, on the palate wonderful cedar
wood and rich treacle toffee and
finishing with a hint of sherry tannin.
The Bowmore 15 is bottled at
43% ABV and is presented in a 70cl bottle, it
has a RRP of £58.
Bowmore 18
Year Old is described by Bowmore
as having a classic Bowmore smokiness,
perfectly tempered with creamy caramel,
chocolate and ripe fruit aromas. On the
palate, beautiful soft fruit and
chocolate balanced with a light
smokiness - incredibly complex which
leads to a long and wonderfully balanced
finish.
The Bowmore 18 is bottled at
43% ABV and is presented in a 70cl bottle, it
has a RRP of £80.
Bowmore 25
Year Old is matured for a quarter
of a century in North American Bourbon
and Spanish sherry casks. Bowmore
describe it as having aromas of intense
sherry and stewed fruits, with a trace
of Bowmore smokiness. On the palate,
delicious toffee and hazelnut, woven
together with just a hint of sweet peat
smoke leading to a mellow, gentle and
incredibly complex finish.
The Bowmore 25 is bottled at
43% ABV and is presented in a 70cl bottle, it
has a RRP of £265.
