The Macallan
A Night on Earth - The Journey, the
second limited edition annual release in
the Night on Earth series, a balanced
combination of first-fill American
ex-bourbon barrels, along with European
and American sherry-seasoned oak casks.
 The
Macallan A Night on Earth - The Journey
as you can probably guess from its title
is a special release from The Macallan
for the Holiday season, in fact more for
New Year than Christmas but I am sure
the sherried dram will go down equally
well at Christmas. The
Journey is the second annual
release in Macallan's A Night On Earth
series which has been created in
collaboration with Shanghai-based
Chinese artist, Nini Sum.
The Journey was created using a balanced
combination of first-fill American
ex-bourbon barrels, along with European
and American sherry-seasoned oak casks.
This single malt represents
the journey to reunite with our loved
ones, and those unique moments around
the world when we come together.
Nini Sum's artwork on the packaging
intricately weaves together the essence
of the whisky's flavours and Nini's
treasured New Year recollections. It
vividly portrays the vibrant explosion
of fireworks, evoking memories of the
enticing scent of toasted oak wafting
from rice popcorn vendors adorning the
lively streets of her hometown.
Additionally, it captures the nostalgia
of milk candy tucked in her pockets and
the inviting aroma of steamed rice
pudding, a comforting call back to home.
Moreover, the whisky is said to carry a
subtle nuttiness, reminiscent of the
sunflower seeds shared by Nini's family
amid laughter and heartfelt
conversations as they pondered their
aspirations for the upcoming year.

Finish: Medium
with sweet, toasted oak and vanilla.
