Distillery Company explores new horizons
with the launch of New Forms.
The London Distillery Company (LDC) is
set to unveil New Forms, an ambitious
new series of single cask, single malt
whiskies that showcases the versatility
and evolution of the distillery’s
original spirit. The collection explores
how distinctive cask finishes—never
previously used by the original
distillery—can shape and transform LDC’s
heritage spirit character.
Launching on 12 June 2026, the inaugural
New Forms release features three
cask-strength, single-cask expressions:
Ex-Bourbon Cask, Fino Sherry Cask, and
Moscatel Sherry Cask. Each whisky has
been finished in carefully selected
first-fill casks designed to take LDC’s
signature grain-led spirit in bold new
directions while remaining firmly
connected to the distillery’s original
identity.
New Forms represents the revived
company’s continued exploration of its
inherited whisky stocks and its
commitment to redefining London whisky
through innovative maturation techniques
and thoughtful cask selection.
The sherry casks used for the project
were sourced from renowned Spanish
cooperage Tonelería JL Rodríguez, a
long-standing collaborator of LDC
Managing Director and Whisky Maker Matt
McKay. The selected casks have allowed
the distillery’s barley-forward spirit
to develop in distinctly different ways
across the range, highlighting the
richness and sweetness of Moscatel, the
crisp saline character of Fino, and the
enhanced distillate clarity delivered by
fresh ex-bourbon oak.
All three expressions are bottled at
natural cask strength, with natural
colour and without chill filtration.
The presentation of the series mirrors
the concept behind the whiskies
themselves. Each bottle is housed in an
individual gift carton featuring artwork
that forms a complete image when
displayed alongside the others. At the
same time, the cartons can be arranged
in any order, symbolising the common
spirit character that unites the
collection despite the markedly
different maturation journeys of each
whisky.
The launch marks another significant
milestone in LDC’s resurgence following
the company’s revival in early 2025 and
further strengthens its reputation as
one of the most innovative emerging
producers within the modern English
whisky category.

Director & Whisky Maker Matt McKay said:

exciting project we’ve undertaken since
reviving The London Distillery Company.
The original LDC spirit has always
possessed a distinctive character -
rich, expressive, and deeply
barley-driven - but what continues to
fascinate me is just how adaptable it
becomes when matched with the right cask
- where thoughtful maturation and a
genuine synergy between wood and spirit
can unlock entirely new dimensions of
character. This series gave us the
opportunity to push our spirit into
completely new territories. Each cask
has shaped the whisky in a dramatically
different way, revealing unexpected
layers of texture, flavour, and
complexity, whilst still retaining the
unmistakable DNA of the original
distillery at its core. That tension
between familiarity and transformation
sits at the heart of New Forms.”
The New Forms series will be released on
12 June 2026, with an RRP of £75 per
bottle or £200 for the complete
three-bottle launch collection. It will
be available from specialist online whisky
