Loch Lomond
launches the Waypoint Series with a 16
Year Old expression which has been
finished in Cognac casks.
Loch Lomond Whiskies, known for its
creative spirit, is unveiling a new
collection inspired by its breathtaking
location on the shores of Loch Lomond
and its dedication to exploration.
The Waypoint Series celebrates the
distillery's passion for flavour and its
rich heritage in Loch Lomond and the
Trossachs. Each whisky in the collection
represents a significant "waypoint" in
the National Park, capturing the
emotions of discovery through unique
expressions.
Launching the series is a standout 16
Year Old single malt, crafted using Loch
Lomond's Swan Neck stills and finished
for 12 months in premium Cognac casks.
This whisky tells the story of the Falls
of Falloch, a hidden treasure in Loch
Lomond and the Trossachs National Park,
where a powerful waterfall cascades
through the stunning Glen of Falloch.
Inspired by this natural wonder, Master
Distiller Michael Henry crafted the
Waypoint 16 Year Old to reflect the
allure and adventure that travellers
experience in this extraordinary area.

The whisky is presented in a beautifully
designed box featuring hand-drawn
artwork by Welsh illustrator Brett
Breckon, depicting a mythical journey
through dense trees and vibrant flora
leading to the majestic Falls of
Falloch. Created on a large
scraperboard, the intricate design
reveals new layers of intrigue with
every look, as whisky enthusiasts
discover the tasting notes subtly woven
into the scenery.
Driven by a spirit of innovation, Loch
Lomond is the only distillery in
Scotland to use both traditional swan
neck stills and its distinctive straight
neck stills, making it one of the most
inventive in the world.
To create the Waypoint Series, Master
Distiller Michael Henry embarked on a
journey of exploration, bringing the
stories of Loch Lomond to life through
whisky. The result they tell me is a
collection of distinctive single malts
that reflect the distillery’s signature
style and Michael’s imaginative approach
to whisky-making.
Michael Henry, Master Distiller at Loch
Lomond Whiskies, said: "The Waypoint
Series captures our eternal desire to
push boundaries, and will explore the
remarkable places that surround our
unique distillery.
"We are fortunate to live in a place
world famous for its beauty and
possibilities for adventure. It is a
location which has drawn generations of
explorers, driven to uncover new
experiences.
"Loch Lomond Distillery captures this
spirit in everything that we do. We
respect but are not beholden to
tradition as we navigate our own path to
freely explore flavour in our own way.
This is what it means to be Scotland’s
most agile and adept Scotch distillery."
Loch Lomond Waypoint 16 Year Old has
been bottled at 46.2% ABV, it is
non-chill-filtered and natural in
colour, it has RRP of £82 and will be available from specialist online whisky
