I thought some of you may find this of interest, Liquid Academy Live has announced they are bringing their creative expertise and drinks innovations to ScotHot 2017, bigger and better than ever before, for the second year running.

The hospitality academy will host the Liquid Academy Live Theatre at Scotland’s leading trade event for food, drink, hospitality and tourism industries on March 15th - 16th 2017 at the SECC Glasgow.

A range of speakers and drink-related sessions will take place on the stage, offering tips, tricks and expertise for visitors to take back to use in their own businesses. From exploring innovation with ‘Simple Serve Sophistication’ that looks at new and unusual ingredients entering the soft drinks market; to ‘From Grain to Cask’ celebrating traditional spirits with a cask strength whisky tasting.

Scott Gemmell, Managing Director of Liquid Academy Live, said:

"The Age of the holistic Food and Drinks Show is back again! 2017’s program is very ambitious and our line up of speakers will be some of the finest we have had to date. The talks are designed to inspire and inform guests to challenge the current status quo with their drinks offering, and help breathe life in to their guests drinking experience. This year will include: Aroma Recognition training; Gin & Wine Tasting; Beer modules to category led cocktail innovation sessions from some of the finest bartenders and brands from across Scotland and beyond. The finale will involve a Drinks Industry Question Time debate in collaboration with SLTN & The SLTA, which will serve to open up the audience and the panels expertise to some of the big challenges the trade has been facing after a turbulent few years politically. There will be something there for everyone!"

The first school of hospitality of its kind in Scotland, Liquid Academy’s mission is to drive innovation and train Scotland’s next generation of front of house floor service professionals and drinks experts to the highest standard of excellence within the hospitality industry.

Toby Wand, Managing Director of Fresh Montgomery, said:

“We are thrilled to be once again hosting the LA Group at ScotHot 2017. Their jam-packed programme is designed to inspire. From smell, to taste, to visuals, the stage serves up a cocktail of hint and tips, helping businesses refine and develop their drinks offering.

We aim to deliver bigger and better sessions to our visitors each year, specifically driving innovation in these industries, and this stage does just that.”

Expected to welcome over 8,000 visitors next year, ScotHot brings together suppliers of food and drink; catering equipment; décor and design; tableware and technology products with chefs and buyers from hotels, restaurants, bars, catering outlets and tourism destinations.

ScotHot runs every two years and now takes place as part of the Scottish Tourism Week’s ‘Signature Events’ programme. This includes the Scottish Tourism Industry Conference; Scottish Tourism Week Dinner with a Difference and the ‘Oscars’ of the Scottish tourism industry, the Scottish Thistle Awards.

By the way, am I the only one who thought when they saw the picture above that this article may be about people who have had a few too many drams and manage to get hold of a microphone and attempt to do some karaoke?
