unveil a rare Glenlivet 74 Year Old at
Dubai international airport, distilled
in 1949 and matured in Gordon &
MacPhail's warehouse for over 7 decades
in a refill Sherry butt.
Le Clos has unveiled an extraordinary
whisky which is set to launch
exclusively today, September 11th, at
Dubai International Airport boutiques.
This limited-edition rarity, which has
been meticulously crafted by Gordon &
MacPhail, the venerable independent
whisky bottler, is a truly rare single
malt, laid down to mature in a refill
Sherry butt at Glenlivet Distillery on
New Year's Day in 1949.
This single malt stands as one of the
most venerable Glenlivet releases from
Gordon & MacPhail, having matured
gracefully in their warehouse for over
seven decades. Elevating its uniqueness
is the fact that this whisky represents
the final cask from Glenlivet Distillery
dating back to 1949 in Gordon &
MacPhail's possession.
Said to have a rich tapestry of flavours
and an abundance of character, this
whisky reveals sweet, stewed fruit
aromas harmoniously mingling with
fragrant cinnamon, well-aged leather,
clementine zest, and the lustrous sheen
of beeswax polish. On the palate,
autumnal spices and fruitcake dance in
symphony with cracked pepper,
underpinned by subtle hints of
garden-fresh mint, dark treacle, and the
warmth of charred oak.
Preserving its cask strength at a robust
49.3% ABV after 74 years, a mere 192
bottles of this ultra-rare elixir will
be available for purchase. Le Clos
proudly holds the mantle of worldwide
travel retail exclusivity for 30 of
these bottles and will be the inaugural
retailer on the global stage to offer
this exclusive gem to its discerning
clientele before it enters domestic
markets on September 19th.
