Laphroaig
launches 10 Year Old Oloroso sherry cask
finished single malt.
 Perhaps taking inspiration from the
popularity and quality of existing
sherry influenced Laphroaig expressions
such a Laphroaig PX Cask and Laphroaig
Lore the Islay distillery has launched a
new sherry influenced expression but
this time carrying an age statement, the
Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish.
The Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak
Finish is said to be a new take on the
flagship 10 Year Old which Laphroaig
fans will be very familiar with. The new
Laphroaig 10 Year Old was initially
matured in a combination of American Oak
ex-Bourbon and Refill Oloroso Sherry
casks then finished for between 12 - 18
months in Oloroso sherry casks before
being bottled at 48% ABV and it is said
to combine the unforgettable flavour of
the iconic 10 year old whisky with the
sweet, aromatic flavours from Oloroso
Sherry casks.

Manager commented on the new 10 Year Old
Sherry Oak Finish saying: "We are
thrilled to announce the release of the
newest Laphroaig expression. Sherry Oak
is an exquisite addition, taking our
iconic Laphroaig 10 Year Old and
finishing it in Oloroso Sherry casks,
which lend depth and sweetness. This is
a perfect accompaniment to any whisky
collection and a celebrated expansion of
the Laphroaig range. Laphroaig drinkers

in the world and with this new offering,

Scotch option that embraces our

I haven't tasted the new Laphroaig 10
Year Old Sherry Oak Finish so I cant
comment on its quality, it has a RRP of
£65 and will be available from specialist online whisky
retailers such as
The Whisky Exchange and
Master of Malt

Laphroaig 10 Year Old Sherry Oak Finish Review

Producer's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Sweet and peaty with medicinal notes,
Manuka honey, with strong clove aroma
but also grilled smoky bacon, a
distinctive character of sweet leather,
iodine, and pine tar.
Taste:
Sweet and aromatic, with rich wax and
furniture polish notes followed by
treacle toffee, maple syrup, bitter dark
chocolate combined with oak shavings,
pine needle and cedar scented wood.
Finish:
The finish is long sweet and spicy with
chestnut honey and antiseptic aroma
lingering.
