After a short
stay at Glen Moray Master Blender
Kirstie McCallum joins Halewood
Artisanal Spirits and will take charge
of their Crabbie, Samuel Gelston’s, The
Pogues, Aber Falls and Peaky Blinder
whiskies.

Halewood Artisanal Spirits has
appointed Dr Kirstie McCallum as its new
master blender, as the business looks to
strengthen its increasing whisky
portfolio.
Kirstie will take charge of developing
Halewood's established core whisky
portfolio, which includes Scotch whisky
Crabbie, Irish whiskeys Samuel Gelston’s
and The Pogues, and Welsh whisky Aber
Falls. She will also help develop a new
English whisky for the Peaky Blinder
range, which will be produced at
Halewood’s new £1 million distillery in
Birmingham, West Midlands.
Kirstie has a PhD in Analytical
Chemistry from Glasgow Caledonian
University and has accumulated over 13
years experience in the whisky business,
she has joined Halewood Artisanal
Spirits from Glen Moray distillery and
its parent company La Martiniquaise-Bardinet’s
where she was responsible for Glen Moray
single malt whisky as well as the
company's extended whisky portfolio,
including world-famous Scotch whisky
blends Cutty Sark, Label 5 and Sir
Edward's.
Kirstie only joined Glen Moray/La
Martiniquaise-Bardinet’s back in October
2019 so her stay there has been short
lived, previous to that she was with
Distell International where she was
Senior Blender for three years and was
responsible for their single malts
Bunnahabhain, Deanston and Tobermory as
well as the company's blended whiskies.
