Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 10 Year Old

21st April 2026
Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 the distillery's deliciously sherry rich annual release has once again been released with a 10 Year Old age statement.

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 10 Year OldLoch Gorm is Kilchoman’s annual limited edition, exclusively matured in sherry casks. It takes its name from the largest freshwater loch on Islay, which lies beside the distillery. The loch’s deep, dark waters are certainly echoed in the rich, coppery hue of this sherry-matured dram.

2025 marked a milestone for the Kilchoman distillery, when it introduced their first-ever 10 Year Old expression of Loch Gorm and they have just unveiled the 2026 instalment and once again it carries an age statement

For the Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 Edition they have selected a total of 23 Oloroso sherry soaked butts from Bodega José y Miguel Martín, all matured for a minimum of 10 years. 20 first-fill casks, rich with bold sherry influence, and 3 second-fill casks, each cask was chosen for its unique flavour profile which, when combined together have once again created a balance of rich fruity sherry character with layers of classic Kilchoman peat smoke and citrus sweetness.

Kilchoman Founder Anthony Wills commented on the 10 Year Old 2026 Edition, saying: "For me, sherry matured Kilchoman at 10 years old is close to its peak. The Oloroso influence is impactful but not overwhelming, with a balance of sherry-soaked peat, roasted ham, nutmeg, orange peel, and sweet spices. The specific proportions of Spanish and French oak along with the unique seasoning process in Jerez, provide us with a cask that perfectly suits Kilchoman’s spirit character and Islay maturation.

"20 of the 23 casks selected were fresh (first fill) casks, these casks have an abundance of flavour, creating the tannic intensity of Loch Gorm’s peat smoke. The lighter influence of the 3 refill (second fill) casks act as a counterbalance to the intensity of the fresh casks, offsetting the European oak tannins with notes of dark chocolate, and orange peel. We very much hope you enjoy this year’s edition."

Kilchoman Loch Gorm 2026 is bottled at 46% ABV, priced around £76, it will be available worldwide specialist online whisky shops such as The Whisky Exchange, The Whisky Shop,  and Master of Malt
