Review of the
new Jura Winter Edition.
 I
thought I would take a look at the Jura
Winter Edition for those of you who may
be looking for a last minute Christmas
whisky gift for a friend or relative or
even for yourself to dram over the
festive season.
The second release in a new cask
finish series from Jura, it was
launched this autumn, the Jura Winter
Edition is available here in the UK from
Tesco supermarkets where it is currently
on offer for £30 which appears to be
good value considering it is a 1 litre
bottle, but is it?
A no age statement whisky which was
initially matured in American White Oak
ex-bourbon barrels and then finished in
hand-selected Spanish sherry casks.
The the Jura Winter Edition
is bottled at 40% ABV and as I said
above it
comes in a 1 litre bottle and can be
found in Tesco supermarkets.

Morrison's Tasting Notes:
Nose:
Aromas of orange citrus, raisin and
sultana; creamy caramel fudge.
Taste:
Unmistakably Jura, sweet vanilla toffee
which is quickly joined by the delicious
sherried fruits, raisins and sultanas, a
touch of cherry, a little dry oaky spice.
It becomes more orangey and toffee'd after a few
mouthfuls.
Finish:
Medium to long length, vanilla, some grape, touch of cinnamon, bit
of cherry and oak.
Comment:
A cracking dram from the Isle of Jura
and at a fantastic price. I have grabbed
myself a couple of bottles to stick away
in the cupboard. For the price I can
highly recommend it if you are looking
for a whisky gift that wont break the
bank.
