Jura Two One
Two, the first edition in a annual
limited release series which will step
up in age with each release over the
next 5 years.
 The Isle of Jura distillery has
launched the first of a series of new
limited annual releases and the new
series is launching with Jura
Two-One-Two which takes its name from
the the 212 (ish) members of the Jura
island community.
Jura Two-One-Two is a 13 year old single
malt whisky which was distilled in 2006
and bottled in 2019 at 47.5% ABV. Matured in American
white oak ex-Bourbon barrels and then
finished in Chinkapin Oak casks from the
Ozark Mountain Range of Missouri. Chinkapin
Oak is known
for its acorns, this is a highly prize
white hardwood which Jura tells me adds
a distinctive twist to the sweet, spicy
and smoky character.
Described as having an aroma of lemon
cake that gives way to cinnamon spice
and creamy toffee. A whisper of poached
pear and of sherbet then lead into a
spirit that is charming on the palate.
Vibrant flavours of nutmeg and ginseng
are bolstered by roast pistachios
wrapped up in the tang of the Chinkapin
oak.

Jura Two-One-Two will be limited to 6000
bottles at an RRP of £90, further
limited editions of Jura Two-One-Two will be released
annually over the next five years and
each edition will be stepping up in age
