Jameson
release first ever cask strength whisky
and it is 18 years old.

Fans of Jameson Irish whiskey and in
particular Jameson 18 Year Old which was
first released 15 years ago will be
pleased to hear that Irish Distillers
has unveiled a Jameson Bow Street 18
Years Cask Strength edition.
This is the first cask strength edition
of Jameson to be available worldwide and
it is sure to be sought after given the
surging popularity of the iconic Irish
dram.
Distilled and matured at the Midleton
Distillery, Co. Cork, Jameson Bow Street
18 Years Cask Strength now sits at the
top of the range of the Jameson whiskey
family. After spending 18 years in a
collection of bourbon and sherry casks,
the blend of pot still and grain Irish
whiskeys has been married together and
re-casked in first-fill ex-bourbon
American oak barrels for a final six to
12 months in the Maturation House at the
Jameson Distillery Bow Street, Dublin.
This first batch of Jameson Bow Street
18 Years Cask Strength has been bottled
at 55.3% ABV and is non chill-filtered
which should add to the pleasure, it
will be available in 20 markets
worldwide from July 2018, I haven't had
the chance to taste it but given its RRP
of €240/£210 Irish Distillers clearly
believe it is something very special
indeed, I really hope they are right as
the official tasting note below isn't
overly enticing, I would be confident it
should be better than the note lets on.
As we have come to expect of a bottle
which has been bottled at this age and
price it is presented in a premium
bottle design. The bottle features 18
facets, one for each year of maturation,
and the wooden presentation box
celebrates the traditional pot stills
used during the production process. In
addition, a unique copper coin located
underneath Jameson Bow Street 18 Years
Cask Strength bottles provides Jameson
fans with access to an exclusive online
portal where they can delve deeper into
the story of the whiskey which bears the
Bow Street name.
The Jameson Bow Street 18 Years Cask Strength
will be
available from specialist online whisky retailers such as The Whisky Exchange
and
Master of
Malt
