Isle of Raasay Cask Strength 3rd Edition

Isle of Raasay Distillery has unveiled the third edition of its Isle of Raasay Cask Strength Scotch single malt whisky.

Isle of Raasay Cask StrengthIsle of Raasay Distillery has unveiled the third edition of its Isle of Raasay Cask Strength Scotch single malt whisky. Following two consecutive sell-out releases, this latest expression highlights the island’s signature Na Sia six-cask maturation process, which they say delivers a lightly peated profile with deep, dark fruit flavours—all at a bold 61.6% ABV, with no dilution for maximum intensity.

This limited-edition release follows the same distinctive six-cask recipe as The Draam but is bottled at its natural cask strength. Na Sia, meaning "The Six" in Gaelic, represents Raasay’s unique approach to maturation, where peated and unpeated spirit age separately in three cask types: Rye Whiskey, virgin Chinkapin oak, and Bordeaux red wine. These are then married to create the distillery’s signature style—which they describe as a whisky that balances elegant smokiness with rich fruit notes and layers of spice and sweetness.

This release also comes on the heels of Isle of Raasay Distillery’s recent renaming of its signature single malt as The Draam, which made its debut in the brand’s first TV campaign in December. Managing Director William Dobbie explains, "We wanted to give our hero whisky a name that reflected its character, and stereotypical names such as ‘signature’, ‘original’ or ‘flagship’ didn’t do the whisky justice. So, we decided to have a bit of fun with it and aptly name it The Draam. A playful take on the Scottish word for a measure of whisky and our island with too many 'A’s in its name!"

The 2025 Isle of Raasay Cask Strength edition is bottled at 61.6% ABV, non-chill filtered, and naturally coloured. Every drop is distilled, matured, bottled, and shipped from the Isle of Raasay by the distillery’s dedicated team.

Co-founder and Master Distiller, Alasdair Day shared, "For some, the closest you can get to a "pure" representation of a distillery's single malt is the whisky straight from a cask at the pure, untouched alcohol strength. There are very few distilleries that bottle their signature single malt at cask strength so this makes it quite a special release."

A total of 5,500 bottles are available worldwide, with the Isle of Raasay Single Malt Cask Strength priced at £65 for a 70cl bottle. It can be purchased directly from the distillery's website and f
